Fleet Management Webinar: Lease vs. Buy

To Lease Or NOT To Lease, Turns out, THAT Is The Question

Executive Order 13693 and General Services Administration (GSA) Bulletin FMR B-30 requires agencies to conduct a vehicle sourcing decision for purchasing/owning vehicles compared with leasing vehicles through GSA or commercially during their annual Vehicle Allocation Methodology (VAM).

Turns out, your business can stand to benefit much from comparing the benefits of leaving vs. buying fleet vehicles. Even if your business doesn’t require the use of fleet vehicles, you can apply many of the these leading practices towards comparing whether to lease or buy assets such as equipment, tooling or overhead services. I know what you’re thinking, you don’t typically BUY services, but you can choose to perform the tasks in-house or offload the job to another company.

Below is a recording of the National Property Management Association (NPMA) Fleet Management Webinar.

“This session will provide information to the participants on direct and indirect cost over an identical lifecycle that will help them to make the Lease vs. Buy decision. Advantages and disadvantages of GSA, commercial lease and buying from GSA AutoChoice also will be discussed.” – NPMA Asset Management Video Description

  • Are you familiar with FMR B-30 requirements for vehicle sourcing?
